Jump into the car with a local aurora hunter and let them take you into the best aurora watching places in the area. We will drive out of the town to reach places with zero light pollution and good view to the north sky.
We always do our best to help you seeing the lights – the route is chosen according to the cloud maps and we can read satellite data to know when the lights are appearing.
This tour is also great for photographers. You have an unique chance to learn night photography with a professional!
We will visit 1-3 different observation places and if we have time, we will also make a fire to grill some snacks. The tour starts at 20:00 and we come back in between 23 and midnight, depending on the situation.

We will mark your name into calendar and we will send a message to you, when we have a suggestion for the best tour date. Since the weather forecasts are changing often, the decision is usually made last moment, often one day before the tour.

Afterwards all you need to do is to wait at your pick up point on the tour date. Wear warm clothes, we take care of everything else, like headlamps and warm drinks!

Is there a quarantee for seeing the lights?
Since the Auroras are a natural phenomenom, we cannot guarantee observing them, although we always do our best to help you choose the best day to do the tour. Still sometimes the weather can change suddenly, or the sun might blow it’s particles on different moment than what the forecast says. Even without seeing the lights, the tours are unique experiences and we can guarantee that you will learn a lot interesting things and have a exiting experience!
How do I prepare for the tour?
All you have to do is to be on time at the meeting place and wear a lot of warm clothes. We will provide for you some useful equipment, like headlamps, sitting pads and snacks. If you have a camera and tripod, you should definately take them with you!
Will you pick me up from my accommodation?
Yes, pick up is included, if your accommodation is withing reasonable distance from Vuokatti. (<10 km distance) Pick up from further is also possible, but might cause small extra fee.
